linux pros plz help desperate

hi everyone

im a newbie here n new to linux

i installed ubuntu from dvd i got frm digit with no troubles

but later than my airtel broadband conn. started acting strange
it runs as dialup service a mere 5mb download is heavy for it

before installation of ubuntu it was no trouble at all

could this be windows xp sp2 n ubuntu co existing in my PC

or this was just a coincidence n my cable was distorted at tht time

for now i have formatted linux partitions n my conn. is kind of better again
not sure it aint downloadin at speed it used to be but still close n way better than when linux was their

hey
unless you played with some network settings in Ubuntu it wont start acting wierd all by itself. there are strong chances that your conn. had some temp. problem.
