Unhappy OS can't boot


hi everybody i installed PCOlinux2006 on my system along with windows xp
but i didn'tlike it so i went to disk management in windows and deleted the unrecognized linux partition(i didn't knew how to uninstall linux)
but now when i boot GRUB v0.95 shows and doesn't let me boot into windows plz help me
tell me how to recover my system
maybe it is because i placed grub ito MBR during installation process(it was my first time)
plz help me

simple! boot from xp cd. press r for repair...
select ur windows parition and then at the terminal write "fixmbr"! ur done

u need xp pro CD for this!

thank you vey much for this,
i'll first ask somebody to give me his/her xp pro cd and then i'll right away do it but just one question
have you tried it,is it fullpfoof,will it work fine ?
bcuz i haven't installed xp on my own computer!!!

YES! It 100% works.

U can also use Windows 98 CD and after booting into DOS, give following command:

fdisk /mbr

Yea I had done this like 5-6 times on ma dad's lappy to see which linux distro suits on the lappy for me!! I tried SUSE 10, Ubuntu,knoppix etc and finally installed knoppix!!

This one is a common query, you havent searched I guess. Fixmbr works perfectly enough, troubles are very rare.
