Default Fedora Core queries


just one query. i am planning to install both KDE and GNOME desktop environments in Fedora Core 5. will there be any problems? what will happen if both are installed. will i get a choice to choose the desktop environment during booting?

There will not be any problem at all if you install both the desktop environments and yes you can select to switch to any desktop while booting. Go ahead.

Yeah no probs but KDE apps will show up in Gnome menus and wont run properly under gnome... if you wanna run it that is...

how do i assign myself sudo priveleges? how to edit the visudo file?

I didn't find visudo in FC5. To edit the file
Code:
su
gedit/kate /etc/sudoers
use either gedit if you are on GNOME or kate if you are on KDE.
You will have enough examples in the files and on google linux reguarding what and how to do.

Did you use su first? And did you type the commands in the same terminal where you typed su?
