Default File size more than 2 gb

Hi,
can any one tell me how to create more than 2 gb file size in linux os
laptops4u is offline

If you mean an empty file you can use the dd command like this

dd /tmp/empfile bs=1000 count=2000

no i wana copy a file more than 2 gb (with data ).. i am using redhat 7.3 .. can any one pls help me in this ..

first check ur installation to have enough space(>2GB),or try some other partitions having enough space

Red Hat wha!! 7.3 ? Thats Outdated! Most Probably that OS is using ext2 Type File System..

ext3 Supports large Files..

Get yourself a Nice New Distro.. Like Fedora Core (Formerly called _just_ Red Hat)

And Dont Go For Enterprise Linux.. They're Meant only for Enterprises and Lack Community Support..
