Default reliance wireless internet in linux

how do i configure my reliance rconnect to work with linux(ubuntu 5.10)?
i have an lg 350r WLL phone and i use a USB cable.. the rconnect for linux software i downloaded from the reliance website doesn't have the drivers for this phone..
i tried googling and i found many solutions but none of them work.
i tried using wvdialconf but it always fails the test..
exactly how to i mount a usb device in linux? i read somewhere that modprobe'ing usbserial and ftdi_sio does it.. it doesn't seem to help me.
please help.. i am very eager to use internet in linux.
