GRUB gives me options abt which OS to boot. and does anyone have an e-book or link to downloadable material on linux administration?? FREE material of course. but i want downloadable

1. Yes, keep your kubuntu installation/repair disc handy for reinstalling grub after repairing XP.

hey Linux guru thanks for ur help .....
but the GRUB didnt get overwritten !!! :d i didnt need the installation CD of KUBUNTU!!! cud be bcoz the windows and Linux are installed in different HDD in my PC. and thanks for the link !!!

Probably yes. Windows will clear mbr of the hdd which it was installed. And grub may be installed on the other hdd. Anyway that was good news for u too.
