Default do u think MYSQL is reliable?

is anyone here using mysql for practicle purpose. Is anyone using mysql for commercial purpose , if yes, can u rely on this free database?

I am opinion that, it is riskty to develop systems based on mysql.

Am i right in this regard?

Are you aware of Wikipedia project? < http://en.wikipedia.org >
Are you aware that Wikipedia runs opn top of a PHP & MySQL based application called Mediawiki?

If MySQL can power Wikipedia, then why can't it run your project? If your project more complex than Wikipedia?

I think mySQL will be more stable than MS SQL or Oracle if you ignore the support. But I doubt you will need paid support looking at the crash tests each production release of mySQL undergoes and the user tests. If you want this database for a site or forum, I'd suggest you look at it better than other rational database systems. Some of the biggest forums in the world have a mySQL backend including the Winamp forums and theadminzone.com , ozzu.com, offtopic.com
