Default sourse codes of linuxes


open source means source codes are open
but is there any site from which i can download entire souse code of any linux ??
by the way which language is preflably used for making any linux ??

thats waht you r compiling from source means..and u really wanna try source
compiling try gentoo gnu/Linux...it comes in source compressed as tar balls..
and kernel.org holds the kernel sources...Linux Kernel mostly uses C language....

You can get the source code of the linux kernel from www.kernel.org , source code of the shells, utilities and other things can be got from various websites, like www.gnu.org

Navigate to http://www.debian.org/distrib/packages#search_packages

and enter the name for your package. From there you can download sources for almost 17k+ packages available with debian
