Right Click on My Computer and go to "manage..."
Now go to storage (on the right side-in window)
U wil see ur partitions of HDD and No of HDD in a graphical way.
Delete the ones that are of Unknown format or which u dont think is "Windows"
Now use ur WIN XP CD and reboot and enter it and go to its recovery console (DOS Type)
Type FIXMBR
Reboot again and ur worries are all off !

Note : if no win XP cd then use OSL Boot Manager and jus install it after ur Format step and then immediately uninstall it and reboot to see the effect in place

(it might ask for a floppy but ignore it)

Just boot from the CD and i think on the 1st screen u can press R to enter the recovery console (that is, after the EULA and driver loads, the 1st screen of options)
