He installed Beep Music Player (BMP) in Fedora Core 4 using yum. He want mp plugin for that.

Hey champ_rock, Rhythmbox is one of the best Music Management Software and Player for gnu/Linux(Known as Music Player in Applications>Sound & Video). XMMS is another great player. Why dont you try those ?

for mp3 support in rhythmbox
Code:
$ yum install gstreamer-plugins-mp3
for mp3 support in xmms
Code:
$ yum install xmms-mp3
And why do you create so much threads for the same problem ?

no actually... that thread was for the ubuntu system whhich was not ready to install xmms because of some dependency prob...

also that system installed the bmp and all the plugins but no sound was coming for that...

now i have fc4 and i needed the plugins....
Can u understand the difference ... they may be the same problems but are different...

Well, i'd also suggest u to try rhythmbox too. Its more than a player. Its a Music Management software, much like a music libarary. And its Playlist manager too. And its got a very simple interface.
