Hello guys. I am having trouble with ubuntu 11.04 on my laptop. After installation it works fine with a mouse but the pointer only shakes and behaves abnormally with the track pad.The same disc I used to install ubuntu works fine on my desktop and my fathers laptop. Help me out coz I need a linux OS and ubuntu is easy to use and easy to install.

My laptops specificationsony vaio E series)

1)intel core i5 (2.40 GHz)
2)win 7 home premium
3)4 GB ram
4)512 mb ddr3 nvidia geforce raphics card

p.s. I purchased my laptop on 28.1.2012.

I have somehow solved the problem.
While booting up my system I selected repair broken packages option and this solved the problem.
