Default Eclipse problem in FC4


The Eclipse platform for java crashes always when i start it.
i mean that it loads perfectly but after the main page is displayed it crashes and i m unable to even shutdown my pc.
i tried it both on Gnome and Kde but it crasshed on both.

whats the problem ?

Are you using root account ?

Try invoking Eclipse from a normal user account

@querty: I had the exactly same problem as ur facing. I did know to do anything but to install fc3 and install fc4 with eclipse over it. It worked.
I guess this is the only way to solve probs in linux for newbies like me!!!

I had the same problem and the problem was solved.
Actually eclipse takes a huge amount of memory while loading.
So if u don't have large ram(512MB) or swap space then u will face problem.So u can solve the problem by incorporating swap file or swap partition or by increasing ram.

i do have 1 gb ram, but still it crshes if i'm invoking it from root. i got no problems if its a non-root account

i have 512 mb,
K problem solved now, i reinstalled Eclipse and ran as user now too...

It ran now,
