Ubuntu wont boot

i am using Ubuntu with dual boot with Windows 7 on my home PC. Now when i came this time Ubuntu wont boot is showed some message like

init/root/ boot failed blah blah

So i dont have any clue what to do?

reinstall, looks like it messed up during installing.
did you upgrade/install recently? or been using for some time?

Using it for soe time . UPS was low on battery so was not able to do proper shutdown PC switched off as soon as power was cut

Try the recovery boot option in GRUB and let it check the packages.

or boot from a live disc ad run update grub(not sure)

Will do it around Diwali as i am leaving for Hostel now will chwck it out once i come back. Thanx !!
