devilspie breaks opera if used without compositing

i recently installed devilspie in my new xubuntu box to remove titlebars from firefox and opera. but then opera was broken and wouldnt display properly.

i found out that you'd have to enable compositing for devilspie to work.

i was wondering if it could be done WITHOUT compositing???




opera before enabling composition.
see the duplicate "ghost" strip of pixels on the right??? it has happened several times over many distros, and only on opera.... maybe i should submit a bug?
