Default net on knoppix

how do I conect to the internet by knoppix?
I specified the userid and password and it writes initializing modem....my modem is detected and workin fine though then what is the problem...?

Search for wvdial in this forum(Open Source),it works well with most serial modems.

well I am using a external D-Link 56kbps modem..

Oh thats good. I should have been recognised on its own. Just check the device tab and ensure you have selected the right one.
