Default Reset the linux root password.............


Hi! All the members……… I want to know about-- How to reset my Red Hat Linux root password by using the single user mode… in details. It’s very urgent. Any body can help me about this??????????????????

Also I want to know--- Is it possible to reset/retrieve the Boot password also??????????

If you know the old root password then
root passwd
if you don`t know the old root password then
sudo -s
enter your user password
root passwd

you can boot into single user mode, or the other way would be put the distro CD in - boot into rescue mode, and reset it from there.
