is it possible to add/remove shortcuts in the start menu in linux just like windows like right clicking on start menu will open startmenu folder so that we can edit items in it. in the same is it possible in linux? |

In GNOME also you can right click on a submenu and click "add new item to this menu" or something like that and add a new entry.
If you have Gconf installed then you can use this GNOME Menu Editor $ gconf-editor
