Default grub boot loader query


hi

is it possible to multiboo differend linux flavours in on machine like in windows.

the matter is i had three distros, suse9. personel, xandros and fedora core . i want to install all of them and want a boot manager as grub. i dont want to use any other third party boot manager.

is it possible to do so. if so how please help me.

Yes it is certainly possible, the only restriction is that of your hard disk space. Create seperate partitions for each, but let them all share a common swap partition.

I don't know what you mean by third party boot managers, but yes Grub will do what you need.

Yes....

First see if all the OSes(Linux OSes) boot using Grub, then your job is easier...

Else, goto one of the Linux-es that has GRUB boot loader and modify the
Code:
/boot/grub/menu.lst
to point ot he partitions containing the other (Linux) OSes...

Cant give more details as I am on Windows :-P

go ahead niranjan

The three Xandros,fedora and Suse can boot from the grub loader

I have installed abt 4 other distro. along with these 3 last week and all r using the same grub loader
