Default Ubuntu Redialer

In Windows, whenever my BSNL connection disconnects, a re-dialler springs into action and redials after 60secs and does so 5 times if not successful in first try. How can I make such utility or enable one, if already present, in Ubuntu 8.10?

KNetworkManager does it for me in Ubuntu x64 with KDE 4.2...

For Ubuntu GNOME, Try gnome-ppp.. it has some option I think..
