Arrow Few XUBUNTU Queries


Few Queries Here Regarding XUBUNTU :
  • Can I run all Ubuntu softwares on XUBUNTU
  • Is it just the version that takes less memory & has less customizations
  • Can I run it on my lappy with 256 MB RAM
  • How can I configure an always ON Broadband connection in it
  • If it has any drivers issue
  • What about support ?? (I've xubuntu-8.10-desktop-i386)
  • Can I Do 3rd point for KUBUNTU also

PS: Fluxbuntu will run better on your laptop, but it would be tough if you are new to linux

You can also try absolute Linux, its based on slackware and runs very well on low end hardware.

How can I minimize customization in Ubuntu so that it takes less memory ??

Whatever you do, for a first distro on light hardware stick to xubuntu.
All other distros which run on light weight hardware are NOT for n00bs.
Zenwalk may be for newbies, but its NOT for n00bs (note difference b/w newbies and n00bs).
