configuring ubuntu after power crash

i recently installed ubuntu, every thing going fine due to a power faliure, its behavior is changed, i am facing problems which are fine before this happens, like i am unable to mount ntfs drives ( but i resolved by searching on internet) and my sound also stop working
the folowing error is occured when ever i try for sound
" no volume control gstreamer plugin and/or device found"
i also installed device manager, but unable to use for solving this error. can some one plz help

When Ubuntu boots up it gives out a sound on loading the desktop. Do you hear it?
