Ubuntu 7.10 hangs at startup screen

Hangs WHENEVER I try starting Ubuntu.Last time it worked was 10 days ago.Tried rebooting 3 times today, but it's refusing to start up.Wtf man somebody please help me.

At which stage is it hanging? When the desktop loads?

Have you enabled compiz? Try disabling it.

When during my double boot operating system I select Ubuntu,Right after that when "Ubuntu" comes written and it starts loading,it hangs.

Right when Ubuntu comes on the screen press Alt+F1 to see in which process it hangs.

Which Motherboard you have ? Try addint acpi=off noapic nopalpi in the bot line

Now as from yesterday I started using it frequently, it's booting properly lol.Hey and I'm a TOTAL newbie at ubuntu man lol.Im learning what sudo and terminal is atm.

The latest Ubuntu version is 8.10 Intrepid Ibex,why not install it?
Just get to know how linux works and it is not a clone of Windows, so dont expect it to mimick Window's behaviour. Once you get this in your head, it becomes very easy to migrate to Linux. Take your time with the penguin.
