Default Linux CDRom Driver Woes


Hey guys,
Well i have a problem here. I have Mandrake Linux 8.2 installation disk with me. I am unable to install it because i dont have a driver for my LG GCE 8525B cd-RW. It is not recognising it and hence i am unable to install Mandrake on my system!!! Help me plz

well mine is the same model cd-rw. I had no problems installing Mandrake.
what is your system configuration? The processor, Mobo, etc?

Well im having problems only with the cdrom as it cant find any driver for it...

well install from the iso directly...more info here---->

OR
make a bootable floppy and do the install...
if u dont know how to create the floppy lemme know..

you mean the mandrake cd is not bootable? Or is it after installing that you
are not able to access the drive? which one? please be more clear.

Well actually, it is a boot cd..
While it is installing, it is asking me how to install. the only option is a CDrom install and it sayz that there are no CDrom drivers available, so setup cannot continue.....
