Default Qs on Ubuntu 8.10 and usb stick boot

I really do not know whether this should be in Q&A or Open Source. Anyway here goes:

I want to install a regular Ubuntu distro to my ASUS eeepc 1000H
This pc has a regular 160 GB hard disk drive
My question is

Can I make a bootable USB with this tutorial
http://www.pendrivelinux.com/2008/11...usb-installer/
and then install to my pc just as I would from a live CD?

I have been using this tutorial for creating bootable USBs: http://www.teamteabag.com/2008/05/17...tros-from-usb/

I installed KUbuntu 8.10 and 8.10 DVDs by following the 3-4 steps mentioned in this link. Except for the extraction part it is very easy. Extracting the files from the iso image to USB takes around 1 hour in my case.

Doesn't Ubuntu have something like this?

Sorry I haven't used Ubuntu in many years.

Hitboxx, that's exactly the link I posted for Ubuntu
I just want to know if I can use it for installation or only as a live usb?
Can I install it on my eeepc as it has a hard disk and not a ssd, or do I HAVE TO use one of the eee remixes?

By the way, which fedora has that, the live cd? looks interesting

@nucleuskore, This in on F10 but it is there since F9 IIRC.

I think it can be used as an installation media also.
