avsaps seems to be more kewler than tally itself.. Its interface and look is good. I also read about its features. language support is also almost unbeleivable.

GnuCash is the best for personel or small busisness accounting

I am not aware of its support in Indian Languages, but it will come sooner or later and, If you know how to compute VAT/ or whatever, it can be used in most worthy accounting packages IMO.

If tally is simpler than the software GNUrag mentioned then I am certain that you just 'get kicks' out of posting ST UPI D anti-linux posts.

Gnucash is verysimple and straight forward !! and is at the same time it have very complex features for powerusers. I have personaly used it when it was in .6 to .7 version.

PS: If you have linux why dont you try it out yourself and let us get enlightened. That will give us a chance to know that you probably are not that stupid after all.
