How to enable firefox online mode in Linux?

Hello everyone, I m new to Linux & I m not able to browse any web site using firefox
I m using red hat AS & it is connected to the internet using indicom plug to surf modem.
Plz help.

Other apps able to connect to internet or not?
See if firefox is in offline mode(In file menu). If yes, then switch to online mode.

if firefox says "Offline mode", open File menu and uncheck "Work Offline" (second option from bottom).
