1 .http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-ubuntu.html

2. Ok to install .. 1'st download the font you want , then open Terminal and type

sudo nautilus

a Windows will open under address bar type fonts:/// and copy the font there

Change fonts from Appearance Settings section

3. Install Amarok sudo ap-get install amarok
or instal Exaile

4. Amarok wil do it..

5. http://www.skype.com/intl/en/downloa...e%3D2556395534

I would recommend you install Mandirva over Ubuntu as Mandirva has better GUI tools than Ubuntu

1) Go to Synaptic Package Manager (Under System), search for VLC, mark those VLC dependencies and select apply.
2)Change the settings in in Apperance to suit your need
3)Amarok Amarok Amarok all the way. Install it the same way as I said with VLC using Package Manager (searching for "Amarok" of course)
4)Amarok sub kuch karega.
5)Use the same package manager to install Skype. Otherwise here

I generally reply immediately after reading the first post and then go through the other posts. I did add the "edit"

I can't believe you.. I think 8.10 is faster on my machine...

BTW, mandriva does not have a gud community like Ubuntu does...

And package mgmt is really really easy with Synaptic and Add-Remove Programs...

For better Intrepid Experience, refer to this :

^ I'll assume you have internet connection and gud gfx memory so that compiz runs on it...

Goto synaptic and reload to get the latest software list. Now, install ccsm and emerald.. It should install Compiz Settings manager which you can access via System>Prefs>Compiz... or sudo ccsm in terminal or gksu ccsm in run dialog.. and experiment with various settings and select the ones best for you.. you can visit gnome-look.org for various themes and additions to your Ubuntu desktop...

I also recommend screenlets and avant-window-navigator if your system is not very slow.. they provide additional eye candy... get them via synaptic too..
