Configuring Kmail ?

Hi
I have been using Thunderbird lately and stumbled upon the new Kmail of kDE 4.. I have a Gmail account with Pop/SMTP enabled for these kind of s/w ! Now since Thundeerbird provides easy options for using Gmail I am pretty much unknown about others.. So can you guys please help me configuring it ?

Here is what I have done ! It is unable to fetch mail : What I am doing wrong ..

What settings are repquire in Sending options ?

port :- 995 with SSL enabled
SMTP Server :- smtp.gmail.com
port :- 587 with TLS enabled

make sure to enter username@gmail.com wherever asked...

I did the same but its not fetching mail. WHat am I doing wrong ?

You're doing pop.google.com.. try doing pop.gmail.com

and make sure that the username has username@gmail.com

It has always worked for me.. never had any problem

No probs.. btw.. is it better to download the Free DVD edition of Mandriva.. or should I install KDE from the already installed version?

I heard you can use imap with gmail in kmail. why don't you try it ???

KMail stores all mails as plain text in ~/Mail.The permissions of this directory should be set to drwx------ so only you can view the contents.

@metal.. i've IMAP enabled.. and i've used KMail for that too.. you just have to replace pop.gmail.com with imap.gmail.com.. then all the settings are the same.. no modifications.

Does KMail support stuff like sync with gmail labels, etc ?
