Evolution mail - not sending mails

I have been using evolution on Ubuntu for some time. Now it refuses to send / receive any email. In fact this button has been greyed (disabled). Please help me troubleshoot this.

You can configure Evolution to send mail using Gmail account, if you have any problems mail me or pm me i will help you

alternately you can Use ThunderBird it has Gmail as default option, yahoo may not work, some say that only paid version of yahoo supports desktop mailing apps to connect. This is similar to evolution, i have installed on Linux and works perfect. I like this application.
