First step by step
1. for connecting two PC, take a LAN wire either CAT5 or CAT6 grade and of any company like D Link etc. then make a clip with RJ45 in cross connection. Because like devices are always having the cross connections like two PC Switch or Modem.

2. Now Chek if you have installed your NIC card or the LAN card driver. if it is done then follow this.
open
My Network Places----View Network Connection
and here you will see the local area connection icon clik on it

3.then follow
go to Properties---Internet Protocal(TCP/IP) and then properties
another wizard with an IP address to fill up will open.

4.give an ip to both the computer in the range of
192.168.1.1 to 191.168.1.254
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Default gateway will be the ip add of the other computer which you have ginen and the same default gateway for the other computer will be the ip of the other omputer.

4. leave the DNS entry an close the wizard and it is done.

ex:
IP configuration for PC 1
IP Address- 192.168.1.5
Subnetmask-255.255.255.0
Default gateway- 192.168.1.10

IP configuration for the PC2
IP Address 192.168.1.10
Subnet Mask-255.255.255.0
default gateway- 192.168.1.5

To chek the connection:
Plug in the wire in both the pc
then open
start- run - cmd- enter
command promt will be open
type ping - 192.168.1.10 enter from the first PC
and it TTL comes the connected

this all can hopefully set up a two PC LAN connection
