Default Transferring files (and paying games?) via wifi?

Hi,

Is there any way (I know should be) to transferring files through Wifi...

I established a connection b/w the computers.. (laptops, actually)... it said 'connected' , but i dont know how to transfer the files.... nothing comes in the send to, and nothing comes in the network neighbourhood.

also, is there any way to make your wifi act like a lan connection... ie, transfer files... or whatever may be possible...

Wifi is LAN just without wires,
Assign same newtork ip two both computers ie. like 192.168.1.20 and 192.168.1.22 and setup up ad-hoc network.
Now you can access other PC (make sure both are on same workgroup.)
