modem problem

hello everyone,

i have a problem with my modem which has surfaced recently.

what happens is when i install my modem i have a error popped up stating that "delayed input output error,windows cannot install this device,there's some hardware or network failure" and the computer restarts.
please help.....

Plz give in details sush as internal or external brand

try to get WDM drivers of your modem
if internal
try diff pci slot

tried diff pci slot.
the problem ocurs while installation of the modem. my modem is motorola sm56 internal. at the final stages of driver installation the computer restarts.
i am using win 2000 drivers on xp. (this has worked b4) but while agian installaing this problem has surfaced.
