Default requirement::: setting up a Wireless LAN

guys.... let me keep it as follows

Intro:: I'm using a BSNL ADSL connection. One of my friend want to have a net connection, but he is staying in a rent and he does not have a phone connection to take the ADSL. so we planned that i will share my Net Connection.

Prob/Soln:: The distance between us is near about 100-250 mts (straight line). we can not make a cable networking becuz of the cost.. if you make a cable, it will cost us near about 1000 mts. so now we are planning to create a Wireless LAN between us.

Here we are got stucked::
What are the component do we need?
How much it will cost us?
Will it cover aprox 250 mts distance?

reply as soon as possible

As I read your post the only 2 things that worry me are 250m & your budget.

There is no point in going blah blah unless we know what & how much cash you can put in.

But all certified wireless products as of now have a range coverage of 300ft that is 92.8m to be precise.The range can be extended by using products such as Range Expanders & all but they cost money.

Also remember wireless networks just dont worry in a jiffy,external conditions also matter a lot.

If may I ask why isnt running a CAT5 cable feasible?

if i go for cable it will cost -- (305mts) 4 x 3400= Rs. 13,600/-.

i don't know about the costing for Wireless products. thats why i'm asking..... as you said that it will cover 300ft ... so we can make it...
