Weird Lan Problem

I had successfully craeted a LAN Connection between my bro's comp and mine .It worked fine and we played a few games against each other (Halo , Age of Mythology) and then shut the pcs down upon booting the pcs back after 3 hrs the lan connection continues to work but we cant play multiplayer games ie the join game screen appears blank even though the other pc has started the game .I reinstalled Halo to no avail. Please help!!!

try to ping each others' computers see if its fine.

change the computer names, restart and then try again.

make sure they both are of the same workgroup

try using other games, do they also not work ?

yeah tried all ur suggestions . But i realised the ip addresses didnt match and tht solved the problem. thanks any way ishaan,

daz cool...ur welcome...btw, could you tell me if this works:

go to start>run

type 'shutdown -i'

a box will open up, click on ADD and put the other computer's ip address in it

change the seconds from 20 to 200
and click ok

cud u temme if on the other pc it actually starts to shutdown ?

cuz ive tried in my home lan and it never works

if it doesn work, then in ur other pc, go to start>run and type 'shutdown -a' this will cancel the shutdown
