Re: ZN5 is damn cheap 16k
Only downside is that it's very difficult to find 3rd party apps.
But if the OS and inbuilt apps are like those on E8, there is no need to search for alternates

It has everything E8 has and more, even the sound quality is on par with the dedicated music E8.
I played with it last week and Iove it, price is 17k here in Bangalore. Now waiting for the ZN4.

Re: ZN5 is damn cheap 16k
To be honest even though ZN5 is a really good phone and even better than 6220c I don't see it out-selling 6220c, not even at this price. Not in India atleast. Most people would prefer getting a Nokia over a Motorola any day.
Anyways for people who can spot a good phone from the ordinary ones, the low pricing is good news.

Re: ZN5 is damn cheap 16k
^^ who cared. I know 90% of roads in Bangalore.
In India, there is extremely responsive GPS client in every living human
And they are so accruate that you don't need a phone for GPS tracking

Re: ZN5 is damn cheap 16k
^^ You have got it mixed up. GPS is not made for navigating through the streets of your own city. It is designed to help you navigate other cities when you visit them. E.g. you might know the streets of Bangalore very well, but what about Mumbai? This is where GPS comes to the rescue like a guide, letting you navigate to different places even if you don't the streets very well.

Re: ZN5 is damn cheap 16k
^^ yep. That helps for those who travel a lot and those new to the city.
Looking at the niche' features of the phone, GPS will not be a deal-breaker. Right?
Anyways, India is not a Motorola country. And this phone is more of a beast inside than a headturner outside.

Duh! this one looks like a very hard-to-use camera phone. Id better have N82/N78 with me instead of this one.

Re: ZN5 is damn cheap 16k
The ZN5 has a great camera module and great sound(sound on par with Samsung i450).
The camera of this phone is better than the Nokia N82. If u dont beleive me, read the review of this phone at www.mobile-review.com and www.smape.com/en
The ZN5 is great VFM at Rs.16k.
It will become a great phone once 3rd party applications start appearing.

The camera and sound quality of the ZN5 is better than both the phones u mentioned. The only advantage that the N78/N82 has is large no. of applications.

Yeah Yeah. Especially with a feedback-less keypad, even N78 keppad should be more usable than that. N78/N82 over it anyday. Especially when you count the apps you have for it. and GPS and the Nokia familiarity which comes in us out-of-the-box.

Re: ZN5 is damn cheap 16k
If you can use the n82 keypad, zn5 should be a piece of cake. The keypad surely needs some getting used to however.
I dunno why people keep comparing symbian to normal phones. And most people have no use for the apps anyway. The GPS is useless in india. The c702 or any other phone hardly responds, if theres even a plastic sheath on top.

Re: ZN5 is damn cheap 16k
That my friend is the super crap strategy of Moto .. selling good phones with low margin hoping to get more sales .. while Nokia sells good phones with high margins.. Plz dont argue with me abt this .. Balance sheets of both company reveal this..

Re: ZN5 is damn cheap 16k
@dream: Gps is one of those things i am using religiously in my phone N82. It helped me alot. And pls just because u don't use gps, don't label it as useless.
Ps. Maps are pretty detailed for all the major cities, and more is being added

Re: ZN5 is damn cheap 16k
@dreamcatcher
For me; GPS is a really cool n geek feature. Wether I use it regularly or not, I would like it to be present on my phone.
And I know that N82/N78 both dont have a good keypad but at least they have a mechanical feel to it(I have used both kepads and they arent the worst that I have used, though seriously not for a texter) which IMO should be easier to use than the ZN5.
And I personally like my Handset to be running a good OS supporting a good amount of softwares. With such a Handset, Im never out of features.
Even my old Nokia 6600 could give a serious tackle to many propietary OS phones of today in terms of features.
could create/view/edit MSOffice files in it,
could use it as an OCR,
could code in Python in it,
could use it with external GPS,
could play many music file formats which werent supported by default,
could record calls,
could manage files with powerful 3rd party file managers,
had photo-editing/voice-editing/video-editing softwares in it,
had bar-code readers in it,
could use PC internet connection to browse internet in it through bluetooth,
could control TV/DVD/Music system using the IR port.
Now imagine that w/o S60. Imagine doing all that with Nokia S40, Sony Ericson propietary OS, or iPhone which doesnt even support Java... You gotta be kidding me...
@mehra.rakesh
You ask me why I like Nokia? Simple, because Nokia manufactures the best Symbian Series 60 phones. S60 has a lot many apps for it.
Also, personally I find the keypad configuration of Nokia combied with S60 to be the easiest to use. Im not a fan of S40 though.
I also like the OPENMOKO.

It has everything I would want in a phone except for the poor video recording capability. But a very good phone indeed at the given price.

Re: ZN5 is damn cheap 16k
moto zn5 is not that better than n82 camerawise .. just that it has a bit better colour reproduction because of better image processing algorithms .. details etc .. is same ..
used friends zn5 for 10 min or so yesterday, sound quality through headset is better than n82 which infact is a bit better than n95 8gb .. used it with ep 630
flash range and illumination strength is same as n82 xenon flash ..
cant say anything abt keypad as did not get chance to test it ..
finally, a proper camera centric phone from motorola .. better than samsung, lg, sony offerings and on par with nokia n95 8gb , n82 ..
and yeah , led flash is pathetic .. a no use thing ..
should be priced at 14k ..
