Lost N73

I've just lost my new Nokia N73. My query is:
1. Can the IMEI be tampered with (by any hacking software)?
2. I've heard that by IMEI u can track down ur lost handset. can any1 guide me as where to complain, so that my handset can be recovered?

Yes it can be tracked n recovered. Go to nearest police station n log a complain. You need your phone bill with IMEI no. After than its up to those officer's wish.. My friend managed to recover his phone but had to pay some bucks (2000K) to the officer..

U need to lodge an FIR . Do it as soon as possible b4 the imei gets tampered .but most probably u wont get ur phone bcoz we live in INDIA .one of my mobile got stolen in december last yr. The Police Station incharge aka DAROGA came to my house so that i can lodge the FIR comfortably

U can lodge a FIR...But I don't think u will b able 2 get ur mobile back...The officers r not going 2 do anything soon. Pay something then it may b possible...

Anyways, no harm in trying...
