4GB m2 micro on W580

Hi, I've 3 months old W580 with 1GB m2 micro. I'm considering to upgrade to 4GB m2 micro. Though SE site claims support for 2GB, SanDisk is stating that even 8GB would work fine. Also there are many places (on net) which offer 4/8GB for W580 (so this should, perhaps, work fine).
So, you guys please let me know if anyone of you is using > 4GB on W580 (or similar phones e.g. S500) and, if yes, does it has any -ve impact on the phone?

JFYI I have now 4GB M2 card installed in the phone. Its about 3GB full now and the phone is working fine i.e. no slowdowns etc.

4 gb microsd is something like rs900. And 8gb is around 2k.
