GPS is not getting activated in HTC p3300

Hi guys
as stated earlier my friend went in for p3300 and is pretty happy with it ( even though it's just a day old)
he is not able to activate GPS on it despite downloading activeGPS
also the GPS button near the trackball leads him to messaging and does not start the GPS application
Can NEbody help?

Yes, I never understood anything about this GPS activation. Do we have to buy/subscribe?

try Google Maps.u sud be able to use GPS with it.

NuclearKore, GPS is not paid service!! its available if you have GPS receiver..

You try to install Googlemaps in as suggested above.. else you can use TomTom navigator or SmartGo software..
I would suggest you to get Demo of Smart2Go and try your GPS in that.. and then you can buy any you wish.

Dude no need to activating.. the mobile has inbuilt GPS module.. just go to some open space and try.. if in india u need to try nearly 10 mins for the first sync.
And remember GPS is free
