Cheap, Rugged phone with good battery.
I need a cheap phone at around 2-3k. - should be rugged and sturdy build
- should be ergnomic
- should be responsive to use
- should have a clear screen easy to view
- should catch the network really well
- should give me at least 3-4 days battery backup under normal use
- calling n sms should be easy as breeze, need alarm clock as well
- no other function required
something really dependable and a good backup phone to take with you when you go to rural areas and work well in remote areas.
thanks in advance..

Re: Cheap, Rugged phone with good battery.
they arent what i asked... i need a basic phone... without mp3 etc.... no high end function other than SMS, calling, and Alarm ....
i dont know about the ruggedness of W180.. any users? how tough is it? does it survive 1.5 m falls every other day?... Motorola user interface is one i really hate....
does it actually giev 9.5 hrs talktimethat are written on its specs?.
any more ppl who know about some more phones that i can have a look at?...
Added: and one dear friend wants to buy either a w230 or a w270... and wants prices for them.. if u could help please... i hope they provide good battery backup....
thanks

Close your eyes and get Moto Yuva 180.
The best phone in its class.
I got the moto yuva 230 for my mom yesterday !!
The voice clarity and network reception is just fantastic. Plus, fantastic looks and scratch proof body !!

Re: Cheap, Rugged phone with good battery.
yep. I know a friend using W180 and it certainly gives lot of talktime. Didn't count it actually but definitely should give 9.5.

Re: Cheap, Rugged phone with good battery.
Nope seriously. Nokia does rule in the sub 2k cheap, no frills fone category.

Re: Cheap, Rugged phone with good battery.
^^ W180 comes with crystal talk technology, which negates noise like traffic sounds etc and the resulting call quality is simply breathtaking. Superb. I have the Motorokr E6 and still am amazed by the loudness and clarity of calls on W180. Nokia phones nowhere come near to this one.
