WiFi on HTC touch + messenger help

my HTC touch connects to my home wifi network but whenever i try using the messenger app, the whole phone hangs up during the 2nd step.
what could be the cause of this?
my wifi connection used to require an MTU tweak in windows xp to make hotmail and msn working. how can i change MTU settings in windows mobile. i cannot find it in the registry. can someone who knows the solution help me?

which messenger app you are using?
you can try using some other messenger application..
I dont know about this MTU tric...
