Smile Why Blackberry?

Blackberry from RIM is an advanced wireless solution, probably ideal for checking Mails.

In India Airtel & Vodafone provide Blackberry Service in two ways:

1.Blackberry Enterprise Solution (BES) mainly for Corporates &

2.Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) for Individuals.

In BIS,the charges are Rs.899 pm or Rs.6999 pa (For Airtel Postpaid ) which can give unlimited surfing! (All other plans look cheaper but with data charges it becomes more expensive).

We can configure 10 email accounts including XXXX@airtel.blacberry.com.
Nice part of it is we can configure even free emails like yahoo, rediff, indiatimes, hotmail etc..

Ideal "Push Mail" technology: Once we receive mail in the Server,a copy is delivered to the handheld. We can reply, forward, view attachments (but can't edit attachments).

Blackberry devices are more convenient as their browser is configured for BIS( no additonal charges for browsing or checking links in mails).Unfortunately this browser integration is ABSENT in Blackberry connect devices like Nokia E series,SE P1i etc..So,we require Mobile Office gprs connection for browsing and checking 'links' in emails.(chargeable Re.1/100KB).

If someone lives on checking & responding to mails---Blackberry is ideal for them.

For all others it is Expensive & only 'show-off' value.

Remember,if you use only gprs service like Airtel Mobile Office you can configure your mobile email client for ONLY POP3/IMAP mails,NOT for free emails like yahoo, rediff, hotmail etc..So,blackberry wins over this at a huge cost??!!

Another drawback of Blackberry emails are that they support only Text Format and NOT html. But this is overcome by 3rd party software like "Empower HTML email PRO" & "BBSmart HTML Pro" (average price $30).

More things to come .....Blackberry native devices vs connect devices....

...Stay Tuned..??!!

The future of Blackberry in India is uncertain currently, with the Govt trying to ban it completely.

No more ban from Govt!

Why such a costly affair?

Blackberry service costs more than 10,000bugs per annum???!!!!!

we can make direct ISD/STD calls, which is more cheaper!!!
