N95 GPS working?

Hi all i've connected N95 to the GPS satellites....but i had to stand in the terrace for abt 5 minutes...I don't beleive i'll be able to connect instantly when i am in hte car....that apart...there are no decent maps available for even the important cities in india.....if there is a map and if the connection is balmy...the navigation feature is awesome.....ofcourse i was recommended by few ppl here in the forum to se google maps......but its not as good as the inbuilt map feature......(ofcourse its better to have something rather than nothing).....Will I be able to create my own map with any software/editor for N95?

actually the prob is nt with n95...bt with gps networks in india...
they r weak here..u gotta surely stand fr atleast 5 mins in the terrace b4 u get connctd to gps. while if u talk about major cities in india...i think the delhi map is quite fine and accurate...though it takes a lil while for the device to connct while driving...
also the gps netwrk in delhi also varies on area to area..!

It connects to satellites directly...whtas a gps network?
