Default To grey or not to grey?

Nikon have crashed the prices of their entry level DSLR's globally, but all indian dealers still list the January prices.

For example: The D40 retails for 600$ [aprox] globally, thats bout 26K where as jjmetha [mumbai] lists it white market prices as 34K @2yr Warranty. The grey market keeps up with US prices though, the dealer quoted 27K.

So the question arises, to grey or not to grey?

Should I take a chance with the grey market and skip the Warranty or should I pay the premium for the 2yr peace of mind?

Ps: can anybody get me quotes for the D60 and D80 in the grey market?

IMO you can opt for grey for these reputed brands as they are very reliable(talkin about canon and nikon, can consider olympus). At the same time make sure you buy them from a reputed dealer like JJ Mehta in mumbai or J mehta in bangalore.I think these dealers are importing the h/w from US and saving on bills and tax here thats why ur getting new models at almost US prices(ppl correct me if i'm wrong).
