i am planning to buy a new mobile phone for around Rs 5-6K; and after some research have decided to buy Sony Ericsson Z550i.

Is it any good? Also does it support external memory slot?

You may please specify any other phone that are good n are in my price range...

ya the z550i is quite good..u can also check the W200i and the W300i...

I think Nokia 3500 Classic is better. It has 2mpix camera, EDGE and Bluetooth v2.0 all of which Z550i lacks. Plus Z550i supports M2 cards which is much more expensive than the microSD cards that 3500 supports. Plus Z550i can't even zoom images in image viewer. Really, no kiddin'!

If you can afford 5300 then go for it. The black one looks great plus it has a nice QVGA display and great sound quality.

buy the 5300 transformer edition. nice sound quality and great looks in black.
btw z550 has 176*220 screen and 5300 has 240*320 screen as krazyfrog said

if you wanna get mobile with good features in less price than 6233 is good choice
its has 2 mega pix cam and excellent stereo music speakers and overall good phone
i think its cost will be around 6.5k
and if you concern more about cam then k750i or k550i around 7k are good
or with vga cam e250
