changing the icons in k790i/k800i.. in an easiest and safest way

hi guys here is a tutor to change the icons in k790i..

things u need
XS++(1.66 beta)

NEW USB Drivers:

and the icon pack which i'll upload in the end..

1>>create a new dir named SE in c drive..
2>>install the usb drivers..hope u know how to or if u don know follow these steps..{{{
1>take out the sim card,mem card and make sure u back up every thing and switch off(DON TURN IT ON)..
2>and extract the usb driver which u have downloaded to c:\SE\usb.
3>and extract xs++ to c:\se\xs++
4>start xs++.. press connect in the right side panel..
5>insert the data cable to the pc,then by holding c button on ur fone connect the other end to the fone..
6>then it shud ask for the driver give the path as c:\se\usb as path
7> close xs++ now..}}}
3>>now extract the icon pack into
C:\xs++\files_to_upload\tpa\preset\system\menu..(m ake sure the path is same and in the small case)..

4 repeat the sub steps 4 and 5 given inside the main step 2.. this time it wont ask for the driver but the name of ur phone shud come in the left side panel of the xs++.. (if it wont.. then repeat the sub steps of main step 2)

5 then check [Customize File System] in the right side on xs++

6 click settings at the buttom on xs++

7 click breakxs and then click on fsx at buttom.

8 next window appears, click start fsx..

once it is complete u'll see the msg that says ok to unplug or something like that..

according to my exp its a safe way..
yes i have done it successfully many times..

notes:
1.battery shud be completely charged..
2.works only for cid 49,51 and 52 k790i/k800i fones..
3.back up everything for safety..
4. u might get a layout.xml file or a theme file or both with some icon packs
but i suggest u dont use those two files at all..just follow the steps i have told coz i wasted 2 hrs coz of that layout.xml file..
5.u'll get a file named menu.ml, its very important file so don't miss it to include in C:\xs++\files_to_upload\tpa\preset\system\menu.

note about the first package.. it'll just change the tweleve icons present in the main menu.. but its way way better than boring default one..

notes bout the second package:
1.it'll change most of the icons of the whole phone..(yes it does)
2.and the main menu interface is dock type,(like in mac os)
3.the video calling icon in k800i will be replaced by applications icon(anyways that icon is'nt much usefull in india)
4.and the play now icon in k800i will be replaced by connectivity icon( no one will be using play now icon i guess)..

2 i already downloaded flash themes from the internet but they are in .swf format how do i install them in my phone

download the usb driver from the above link..

use XS++ 2.2 or 3.0 why use that old Version ????????

and shortcut method is better... flashing method for changing menu all time $ucks .. in shortcut method u flash only once

In Phone goto file manager goto other folder and then create a folder called menu and then inside menu create a folder live

like this ( create these folders in phone memory not memory card )
main menu>file manager>other>menu>live>

and in that live folder copy menu ml and icon files ( icon1_slected etc etc )

Use FAR MANAGER or XS++ to delete menu ml

Tutorial: Flashing k550i to w610i !!

1. Delete menu ml from tpa\preset\system\menu\

2. copy all 25 shortcuts to tpa\preset\system\menu\**here**

3. done !!

4. start phone enjoy !!

How to change icons easily later

Simply replace icon in phone memory with the icon that u want
u can download ready made icons lots of them

Now on camera will be known as Cybershot and Music Player will be known as Walkman.. because i have renamed both in Menu ml ..

remember these shortcut file u must upload to FS
tpa\preset\system\menu\**here**

if you are using my menu ml then this goes

k550 custom menu >> this menu ml is for using custom icons !

But since K790 has excatly same menu you can use the k550 custom menu ml for custom icons in K790

list of what icon is what

icon1_selected.png -> Play now! or Operator Webpage
icon2_selected.png -> Internet services
icon3_selected.png -> Entertainment
icon4_selected.png -> Camera
icon5_selected.png -> Messages
icon6_selected.png -> Media Player
icon7_selected.png -> File manager
icon8_selected.png -> Contacts
icon9_selected.png -> Radio or Track id
icon10_selected.png -> Calls
icon11_selected.png -> Organizer
icon12_selected.png -> Settings


The same applies for icon unselected files !!

of course rename all icons to icon1_selected and icon1_unselected or else you will get error ... since phone will start to find which icons ..

in menu ml it is defined that icon1_selected is the icon for playnow when its selected
