Track ID Works Great !!!!

Guys just now i was listening to a song on Radio Indigo..
on Saturday nights they play trance music...!!!!!
and i liked the song a lot and so just gave a try and hit the track id option in radio menu...
and for my surprise i got a result..

i got the details of the song..
i downloaded it and it matched and it rocks !!!!!

i got these details

Title : Halo, Hipp-E & Tony Presents : 6400 Crew
Artist : Dub Me Some'tin Fresh ( Phil Kieran Mix )
Album : Imeca Sessions Presenta Martin Parra !!


but then again i tried for it other song..
crazy by aerosmith.. it failed.. said service not available !

i think its a problem with my Cellone GPRS... may be because of ineffective transmission...

i have a Sony Ericsson k550i... ( ok its flashed to w610i but that's a different thing )

So you got a info of the current playing track!!! ... thats really a cool feature. Never thought regular analog could transmit info .. I thought it was possible only on Worldspace and other Digital transmission.

especially for trance music.. the names and DJ's are soo big its hard to remember...!

Yes it works very well. I have it in my W710i but unlike the newer version, my phone doesn't give the option of downloading the song, only gives the track info. A tip is to start recording when the main lines of the song are playing. This ensures 100% chance of getting the correct info. One thing i wish for is indian music support. Currently it supports only international music.

I think the feature of downloading the songs is available only in the newer models. I'm not too sure though.

there is PlayNow Feature in all Sony Ericsson phones..
using it u can download songs.... of course u have to pay..
i hv not yet tried that feature...!

1 MB download on my Cellone GPRS costs 20 Rs.. !!

i tried it.. it says Sorry We Don't have any music currently available for your location...

that's bad..
but there are many hindi songs ringtones for free download.. !!!!!

PlayNow(TM) doesn't work here. So just hack the customize.xml and replace that icon wid something useful in ur menu.

Playnow does work here. Its just that it doesn't have full songs for download. Just ringtones in mp3 format of hindi songs. They update the list frequently but none of them are any good.

The TrackID in Walkman 3G will have the feature of downloading the song along with getting its info.

The service mostly always works for me. Usually i use it to fill missing info in the songs id3 on my pc. I play the song on my pc and turn on trackid and then fill the provided info in the track's id3 tag on my pc.
