how to charge ipod????

A frnd of mine got a year old ipod nano 4gb frm a cousin in us...
which has been used for an year with itunes.......
i plugged it into my computer(usb 1.0) now it works when its connected to the computer ...it shows a charging sign.....as soon as i disconnect it ....a apple logo appears and nothing works.....i waited for an hour before disconnecting...
I didnt used itunes ....i used anapod to transfer 3 songs....can this be a problem?????

well anapod shouldnt be a prbolem ... wat os are u using ... a similar problem wa faced by many using the earlier versions of vista ... and do a complete reset using itunes ....

try resetting it might help on itunes press ur ipod's name and then press reset

Isn't the USB 1.1 a problem?

Nah.. i dont think so..
a friend of mine faced a similar problem but it was solved after a reset..

try restarting your iPod by pressing "menu" and the centre button together for a few seconds.
