Is it Fake or Original - HPM-70 for w800i - Please Help

I am confused. I went to Sony world in Pune and they told me the rate for HPM-70 was 1600 bucks. In Mumbai sony world it is 1350 Bucks. Idea and Hutch stores in Pune sell them at 400 to 500 bucks claiming them to be original. Please help me in identifying original and the fake ones. and suggest me where i will get the best deal. Any Mumbai location is also fine.

hey dude better buy hpm 82...it costs Max of 1600 Rs
fakes of hp 82 have not yet hit the market..so u can be sure that its original !! and wont hit any time soon coz its design and production is bit cotsly and hard !
this hpm 82 has volume and track controls.....so this is your safe bet !!
getting to know which is original hpm 70 is reallly hard !!

Hey aks_win,
with HPM-82 can we control the radio too? Like chnaging the channels etc ?
Also the sound quality would be same as the one delivered by HPM-70 ?

yes radio too.....sound quality actually must be better then hpm 70....but i think its just an hpm 70 with that track and volume control !!

why not buy that 400 Rs or 200 rs Clone of HPM 70 and get a Creative EP 630 for 1300 rs in RETAIL...that way u can use the hpm 70 adapter with EP 630

EP630 is the best earphones out there...also its prize its really great 1k for such pair is amazing......they even perform better then BOSE In EarPhones !!

Warning : BASS in EP630 is too simply too amazing...i find lots of bass a pain in my ears

can't say really....coz in national market some shops sell fakes one 1400rs saying original !! and some sell it at 500 and 600-700Rs and some at 900 Rs !!
a fake one can be sold at any price above 200 Rs and u never know !!

I went yesterday to Telephone Shoppe. The guy there showed me a set of HPM-70 priced @ 500 bucks. On asking whether it was original, he declined but insisted that the sound quality was on par with the original one. But when i tested the same, the sound was in no way comparable to the original ones. The original ones are priced at Rs. 1595/- in Pune while in Mumbai they are priced at Rs. 1345/-.
Also about the Creative EP630, where can i find the same in Mumbai / Pune. Does it come with the different sizes rubbers. I can use this with my existing HPM-70 because the part below the mic which connects to the phone is still fine.

sennheiser CX300 is way too above my budget...so i dont bother to waste my time checking it out !! Creative EP630 must be available all over...just buy it before its too late before its fakes start off in the market....search for it in may be music world or music planet...and nice electronics shops..

hey if originals are 1400 really then what about those 700 rs hpm 70 sold in many mobile shops as original ?? better get the hpm 82 then if u dont get that EP630 !

while i got my friend's hpm 70 ( 2nd hand ) when he sold his w700i...so its original !!! i just got only the earphones !!

I enquired yesterday in Pyramid, Pune where the Creative EP630 is available for Rs. 1500/- but in my company there is a guy who takes bulk orders and orders it from website techenclave.com. He gets each piece for Rs. 950/- approximately. I am thinking of going through this channel as he is in my company itself.
But one last word
If you have to get EP630 for say max 1000 bucks and the HPM-70 for say 1350 bucks and HPM-82 for 1600 bucks, which one should i go for ?
I want user reviews on EP630 since i do not want to compromise on quality and also i want same or better sound than my previous HPM-70.

Any idea about the retails price of HPM-70 and HPM-82 there?

dont worry boss.....EP630 gets mention in almost every issue of digit as great pair of earphones....
its taken as a standard for all reviews...also its used to review many mp3 players and phone
so go for EP630 !! and keep it safe !! don't put too much bass on your ears..that's all

u will get original HPM-70 from sony world only.
I have seen and tried fake ones , in white and orange packaging w/o ne MRp in rupees, at 450/- in Mumbai, Thane. even HPM 82 was fake..

I'll suggest
Buy fake ones @100/- and creative ep630.
combo will be cheaper and better.

So finally can you guys suggest me where can i get ORIGINAL set of Creative EP630 in Mumbai that too at reasonable price (preferable sub 10K). Alfa in Mumbai is a good option but i am skeptical about its genuiness.

Can u please tell me if the digit guys have reviewed the EP 630. Also as u are telling that the digit guys mention this in almost all its issues, can u name a few issues (which months') because i have almost a collection of digit issues of last 2 years.

most of the original hpm70's have a hologram & logo of ICS or ICA .. thts whatt i noticed.. fake ones dont..

@ rak007....i dunno if they hv reviewed EP630 !! coz i started reading frm this jan after a long break...

recently they conducted a grand mp3 player shootout and they used EP630 in that review....just read it out
and also when they reviewed those BOSE in ear earphones they told that EP630 is v.good for bass...and that it beats bose in bass and does a lil bad in treble..where bose performs...and then in many places they suggest to get EP630...sorry yaar..that's all i rememeber... how do u expect me to rem the issues ..and numbers ...only content matters for me

I think i have zeroes down to EP630. I have taken it for a test ride also courtesy one of the dudes in my company. He had the EP 630 and i went over his place to get a feel which i feel was similar (at least for now) to my previous HPM-70.
Tomorrow i will search a few shops for some good deals and if i get any will buy from there. Else another option is the website techenclave.com where group orders are arranged.

Hi all,
So this weekend i am in Mumbai. As i had told before i will be visiting a few shops here and there, here are the results.

So first i headed to Andheri with the intention of going to Alfa, but just outside the station next to Mcdonalds there is one Anupam stationary. I asked that guy for the Creative EP630 and he showed me one. There was a seperate sticker at the back (with info like Imported by so and so....) which costed 1280 bucks with bill. I asked for warantty and he told me that "Company ka warantty Hoga to Hoga, hum sirf Bill denge"
Next i headed towards Alfa, where i first went to Alfa 2 (the mobile shop) to ask for HPM-70, they offered them for 250 bucks, i asked "Yeh original hai kya ?" The guy said "Nahi...first copy hai" Now the price was very attractive but i did not want to compromise. Next there is a mobile shop there where he told me that he had one for 450 bucks. I asked for original and he showed me a pair packed in plastic bag (small) and told yeh woh hai jo phone ke saath aata hai and price he told was 650 and also insisted that its 100 genuine and he showed me another one for Rs 450 which he called as 99%.
so some call the fake ones as 99% copy and some as 1st copy. hehee

Next i went to Alfa 3 where the EP630 was available. I enquired the price. He told me 900 bucks.
Note: Here the "Imported by sticker" was not there on its back. (May be it was a smuggled one"
I asked "Bill ke saath kya ?".
He told "Bill nahi milega but original hai" This was a very good price but still i was skeptical that agar kuch hua to 900 Rs down the drain.
Then came to Borivali Anupam store where i found HPM-70 for 650 bucks and the person claimed that it was original. Now here the HPM-70 was looking different. The packaging was like 30% bigger than what we usually see in market. Also in between where the mic is there instead of the cylindrical type connector there was a rectangle connector (2 cm x 6 cm approx) and it had a button (for taking calls) and a 4 way joytick for track change and volume. Now this thing has confused me a lot. Ki which HPM-70 available in the market is ORIGINAL. I asked almost all Sony worlds in Mumbai and all gave me rate between 1300 and 1350 but the main issue was that stock was not available with any of them.

and the other one with no sticker priced at 1000 rs as 'A' Grade...

i buy hpm 70 yesterday
first i go to one shop they give me box pack for 350 i just plug my k790 to that and hear the sound sound is very poor
then i go to some othet shop and get hp0 70 for 450 it is real one but without box pack
i tally the sound with my sister w810 i headphoe sonud quality is same
the shopkeeper said me that if u buy box pack sony charge costom duty thats why the price goes high
