How To Differentiate B/n Original And Fake Earphones?

I have been wanting to buy Creative EP-630 for some time now. But I am wary of ending up buying fake ones.

The problem is that of two authorised distributers in mumbai one is saying Rs.1650(

) and the other is saying Rs.1050. But this second guy (whose store is quite near my house) says i cant buy directly from him, instead he gave me another Ph-no and told to buy it from him.

So since I am not able to directly buy from an authorised dealer I want to know any suggestions/tips by which to differentiate b/n original and fake ones.

BTW the second guy said that if I buy in bulk (minimum 5 pieces) he will give it for Rs.950/- each. So if any of you guys from, in and around mumbai are interested PM me.

First ..Are those genuine.?
You have know way of testing without actually listening to them....!
So first get the demo of the costliest one and then try for the other.If both are of same quality ( looks for the plastics , fake one has excessively bad quality plastics )
The price difference is because of various things such as VAT, Taxes and duties coming into play.Some prefer to skip it and go the other routes.
Go for the headphones ...! They are great value for money.

Even if you buy from authorised dealers, what is the guarantee that it is genuine? If creative is giving guarantee for this headphone, it is only a limited warranty and not guarantee. I bought mine for Rs.1000/- without any bill from Alpha, Vile Parle. That was three months ago, and still the headphone is working.

I am not sure the ppl will allow me to test the earphones before buying. So only way to tell is by looking at them.

It is not about the guarantee, it is about the build quality. Earphones dont have moving components, so wear and tear will not be much. But build quality directly affects sound quality. Thats why I am looking for the original ones.

yes its possible to order online....but they are providing only white ones in that creative india shopping website

Be very cautious in dealing with online shopping of rediff.com. I had a very bad experience in buying from them. In the creative site, they have mentioned the dealers in mumbai and you may buy from them. Anyway, creative EP 630 rocks.

Baazee for what we now know as Ebay.in have a reputation of Fake sellers.
Most are Chinese goods branded as original stock ,pitted to unknown customers !
If you need something good and genuine and Ebay is not the one to buy from.

rediff & indiatimes have many hidden cost .......... online buying is 2 bad here ..... besides many fake vendors r tempting u ....... just bware ......

even shopkepers dont allow us 2 try those before buying them ........
