Let me be frank with you, AVOID all CSTN screens period! This is a weaker and cheaper technology compared to TFT.

Phones which implements CSTN technology in their screens are very slow. Slow response time when accessing the menu, dialing a number (especially from the SIM Card) and just doing general activities within the phone. To make matters worse CSTN screens are illegible in the sun. When you are in the sun you won't be able to make out anything on the screen UNLESS you have bionic eyes.

TFT (Thin Film Transistor) technology blows away STN/CSTN technology by a wide margin. First of all, the reaction time in which items are displayed on a TFT screen is much faster...reason being TFT has built in circuitry in the screen so it doesn't have to draw and redraw each image/text. Secondly everything seen on a TFT screen is clearer and thirdly you can make out pictures and text clearly enough even in the scorching sun.

As you can see, the TFT has some vast improvements over CSTN, BUT one advantage that CSTN has over TFT is less power consumption so your cell battery will last longer if that cell phone has a CSTN screen.

CSTN phones are cheaper as well that's why you are bound to find the lower-end colour phones with a CSTN display.

Stick with TFT if you want first class quality.
